Test on Google Play
Kolahal is coming to Google Play. Before Google lets it out to everyone, at least 12 people have to test it there for 14 days in a row. If you have an Android phone (Android 9 or newer) and a Google account, you can be one of them.
- Join the group groups.google.com/g/kolahal with the Google account your phone’s Play Store uses. The group is how Google Play knows who the testers are.
- Become a tester: open play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mtwabpin.kolahal with that account and tap Become a tester.
- Install Kolahal from its Play Store page. It can take a few minutes after step 2 to show up there.
- Keep it for 14 days: stay in the test with Kolahal installed. Making it your home app and using it helps most, but isn’t needed to count.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”The version for Google Play: everything in Kolahal except the screen lock and calls in the log, and it finds people with Android’s contact picker (the Play build). Updates come through the Play Store like any app’s. First run & setup walks you through the rest.
Kolahal from GitHub and from Google Play are the same app, signed with the same key, so one installs over the other and your data stays. An update from Google Play brings the Play version; install the full APK from GitHub again to get the screen lock and calls in the log back.
Tell us what you find
Section titled “Tell us what you find”- Something broken or odd: report a bug, or say so on Discord.
- An idea: the feature request form, or Discord.
- On Kolahal’s Play Store page, testers can also send feedback that only the developer sees.
To leave the test, open the tester link from step 2 again and tap Leave the program. Kolahal stays installed until you uninstall it.
